Our vision for an equitable community
- Regardless of race, educational background and circumstance, we can all achieve a quality life for ourselves and generations to come. This means that outcomes are not predetermined.
- Often we conflate equity and equality. Equality assumes we all have equal opportunities from the start. Whereas, equity achieves fairness based on need, taking into account that policies and systems have created undue burdens on minority communities.
- Advance OC’s mission is to empower the community, through data, innovation, and collaboration, and we have fun doing it. We focus on equity strategies that grow good jobs, remove systemic barriers, and expand opportunities for all.
OUR TEAM
KATIE KALVODA
Katie is the founder of G3 Ventures, an impact investment firm and President of the Kalvoda Family Foundation. In addition, Katie serves as a Board Member for California Health Facilities Financing Authority as an appointee of the Honorable Anthony Rendon, Speaker of the CA Assembly.
NAZY FOULADIRAD
Nazy is President and Chief Operating Officer of Tevora, a cybersecurity consulting firm, named one of the fastest growing companies in the US. Nazy and her husband Ray, a veteran, are life long community philanthropists contributing to local causes like the Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
SISTER THUY TRAN
Sister Thuy is a Sister of StJoseph of Orange. She is part of the Mission Integration team with Providence St. Joseph, formerly Director of Community Relations and trustee of the Sisters of St. Joseph Healthcare Foundation.
DAVID THRESHIE
David is Director of Marketing at the Salvation Army and founder of Thewonk.com, a digital communications and fundraising platform for nonprofits. David was previously a Board Member of Freedom Communications, Inc., where he served in multiple editorial and marketing roles.
BARRY ROSS
Barry is Regional Director, Community Health Investment Southern CA Region for Providence St. Joseph Health. He is an experienced leader in community health, not-for-profit sector governance and management and healthcare administration.
